Terror Allegation: 'No amount of propaganda, institutional abuse can diminish Gov Mohammed's reputation'

By Danladi Monday

The Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Bauchi State on Christian Religious Affairs, Pastor (Dr.) Zakka Luka Magaji, has reaffirmed his total, unreserved and unwavering support for Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, amid allegations of terrorism financing levelled against the governor by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Pastor Magaji made this declaration in a statement issued on Sunday, describing the allegations as baseless, malicious and politically motivated.

According to him, the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed remains progressive, equitable and firmly anchored on justice, unity and responsible governance.

He stressed that no amount of falsehood, propaganda or institutional abuse can diminish the records, reputation or standing of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, either within Bauchi State or across the broader Nigerian political landscape.

The SSA categorically, unequivocally and authoritatively refuted the allegations, describing them as reckless and unfounded insinuations suggesting that the governor sponsors banditry or any form of insecurity.

“For the avoidance of doubt, at no time, under no circumstance, and on no conceivable ground has His Excellency, Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, in his tenure as Executive Governor of Bauchi State, sponsored, supported, encouraged or condoned banditry, insecurity or any form of criminality whatsoever,” he stated.

He added that such allegations are false, malicious, deliberately contrived and intended to mislead the public while undermining lawful authority and public confidence.

On the contrary, Magaji said Governor Bala Mohammed has consistently demonstrated decisive, lawful and proactive leadership in matters of security, governance and social stability.

“His administration remains firmly committed to the protection of lives and property, the maintenance of public order, and the promotion of peace and unity across Bauchi State,” he said.

The SSA further noted that it is a matter of public record that the governor has governed with equity, fairness and inclusiveness, ensuring justice for Christians, indigenous communities, non-indigenous residents, tribal groups and all citizens of Bauchi State without discrimination.

“As the Senior Special Assistant on Christian Religious Affairs, this office maintains comprehensive records, documented engagements and verifiable evidence of the governor’s tangible achievements and sustained interventions within the Christian community across the state,” he stressed.

Magaji also described Governor Bala Mohammed as a national asset and a widely respected, politically relevant and seasoned statesman whose leadership commands credibility and influence beyond Bauchi State.

According to him, the governor’s principled commitment to democratic governance, national unity, security and inclusive development has earned him enduring respect across political, religious and ethnic divides in Nigeria.

He regretted that these qualities have become a source of envy to certain individuals, including some occupying high public offices, who he alleged have developed a pattern of weaponising institutions meant to uphold law and order for political mischief, misinformation and personal vendetta.

“This office will not hesitate to openly, firmly and decisively condemn such desperate, ill-motivated and laughable fabrications. Attempts to malign the integrity, record and standing of His Excellency are failed strategies that cannot withstand truth, facts, performance and the collective will of the people,” the statement concluded.
