Hundreds of supporters, family members, friends, and well-wishers of the Bauchi State Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Yakubu Adamu, on Thursday gathered at the Sir Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa International Airport, Bauchi, to welcome him back to the state from Abuja.
Adamu returned to Bauchi following a decision by the federal high court in Abuja, which granted him bail over an alleged terrorism financing case currently pending before the court and other financial court case.
Supporters who converged from different parts of the state received the commissioner with prayers and chants, expressing confidence in his innocence and pledging their continued solidarity as the legal process unfolds.
Some of the supporters, who spoke to journalists at the airport, described the granting of bail as a positive development and appealed to the public to remain calm and allow the judiciary to carry out its responsibilities without interference.
Addressing the gathering later at his family residence, Dr. Adamu expressed gratitude to the people of Bauchi State and others across the country for their prayers, encouragement, and support throughout the period of the trial.
He urged his supporters to remain law-abiding and to continue to respect constituted authorities.
The commissioner also called on residents of the state to sustain their support for the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, particularly in its efforts to accelerate development across Bauchi State.
Meanwhile, the case remains before the Federal High Court, and Dr. Yakubu Adamu is expected to continue to comply fully with the conditions of his bail.
