Death of Gombe Journalists In Fatal Accident A Monumental Loss-Hamma Saleh

A former governorship aspirant in Gombe State, Abdulkadir Hamma Saleh, has extended his condolences to the families of seven journalists and media workers who tragically lost their lives in a fatal accident.

In a press release issued to newsmen on Thursday, Saleh described the loss as a "monumental loss to Gombe State, considering the critical role journalists play in keeping the public informed, enlightened, and educated on various issues". 

He acknowledged the journalists' contributions to the state's development, saying their absence would be deeply felt.

According to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, losing those number of journalists in just one day was a huge tragedy, emphasising their role in promoting transparency and accountability in governance. 

"This incident was very sorrowful and it will impact enormously on the state because of the role journalists play in development, and public enlightenment. I see it as a monumental loss in Gombe State. I condole their families and the state's media community", he said.
