Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Police Command, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, on Saturday, received the Community Leaders Association, Bauchi State, stressing the importance of synergy in effective community policing.

The association, led by its President General, Chief Matthew A. Osochukwu, comprised turbaned community leaders of non-indigenous residents in Bauchi State.

The President General appreciated the Police's efforts in securing the state and assured maximum cooperation in combating crime.

He used the opportunity to extend the community leaders' appreciation to the State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for the support rendered to non indigenous communities residing in the State in various areas and for working hard to secure the state.

He extended the same appreciation to the Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwan Suleiman Adamu for making Bauchi home for non natives and for recognizing traditional leaders of various communities and turbaning them.

While introducing the community leaders to the Commissioner, the Secretary General of the Association, Dr. Idibeke-Abasi Edward Udosen, described the Community Leaders' Association as a mini Nigeria in Bauchi State as it comprises representatives of all non indigenous communities residing in Bauchi State.

He used the opportunity to congratulate Bauchi state on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of its creation and the Nigerian Police Force for securing the state for 50 years.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the community leaders Turbaned Chiefs speaking through his vice, Arch. Daniel Kambi stated that Bauchi state has become home to many of the resident communities as many of them have lived peacefully in the state for decades.

CP Sani-Omolori commended the community leaders' support in information sharing and general security matters. He welcomed future collaborations for effective policing.
