The National Working Committee (NWC) and the 2025 National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have reaffirmed that the Party’s 2025 National Convention will proceed as scheduled on Saturday, November 15 to Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
In a statement signed by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP and Secretary of the Publicity and Communication Sub-Committee of the NCOC, and circulated to reporters in Bauchi by the State Information Commissioner, Usman Shehu Usman, the party urged members and the public to disregard “misleading claims” suggesting the event had been postponed.
“The NWC and the NCOC urge party members and Nigerians to ignore false reports being circulated by individuals recruited by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in its failed attempt to stop the PDP National Convention,” the statement read.
It further accused the APC of plotting to destabilize the opposition and impose a one-party system in the country — a move the PDP said would be “lawfully resisted.”
The NCOC assured that the party is working tirelessly to ensure a successful and hitch-free convention in Ibadan.
While appreciating Nigerians for their continued support, the committee welcomed all delegates, leaders, officials, and supporters who have already begun arriving in Ibadan for the event.
