Farmers Voice for Tinubu (FV4T) Patron in Bauchi state, Sagir Aminu Saleh has passionately appealed to the Federal Government to unveil initiatives that could pull down prices of agric inputs and implements in the country.
Alh. Sagir Saleh noted with concern the majority of Nigerian farmers, especially the 19 Northern states cultivated their crops this outgoing rainy season at losses attributable to the high prices of fertilizer and agricultural inputs and implements.
He said, "I passionately request for an initiative that would lead to the reduction in the prices of agricultural inputs, implements especially fertilizer, agro-chemicals, agric implements, among others to facilitate bumper harvest and ensure food security for the nation".
Saleh, a former deputy governor of Bauchi state explained that the initiatives will surely boost agricultural developments and galvanize support from the grassroots for the re+election of Tinubu/Shettima in the forthcoming 2027 Presidential election.
The former deputy governor was Wednesday responding to an award of patronship in Bauchi state on behalf of other awardees by the Farmers Voice for Tinubu Support Group (FV4T) held in Bauchi.
Other awardees for the patronship and ambassadorship are Hajiya Sadiya Kabir (Patron), Engr. Ali Abdullahi (Patron), while the position of ambassadorship went to Alh. Idris Mohammed Abdullahi and Hajiya Saude Yakibu Wanka.
Saleh added, "It is a privilege to contribute to the mobilisation of support for a second tenure for our amiable President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027 general elections. We supported the Tinubu/Shettima ticket, we are supporting and we'll continue to support this re-election bid.
"The FV4T looking at its sims and objectives is a welcome development in Bauchi state being one of the agrarian states in the federation", the former deputy governor stated.
Alh. Sagir Aminu Saleh who is a decades-long cotton mechanized farmer, recalled that the Tinubu-led administration has for the past few years initiated programmes that led drastically to the fall in prices of food items and other essential commodities.
He also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing two prominent sons of Bauchi state as senior ministers, and other various federal appointments in his cabinet, including Bauchi former governor, Malam Isa Yuguda as Chairman of the National Open University of Nigeria.
"Under our watch, we will take proactive measures to ensure a perfect and successful implementation of the programmes of FV4T in Bauchi state at all levels, will work together to sustain this initiative, and we will encourage all stakeholders to play their expected roles until the objectives are achieved", Sagir assured.
Also speaking, FV4T Bauchi Patron, Engr. Ali Abdullahi commended the North East Zonal Director of the Initiative, Ajiyan Galambi Haruna Garba for catching into the organization fold a big fish like Sagir Aminu Saleh who purposely because of the farmers voice dumped PDP to join the APC.
Engr. Ali Abdullahi who steers the Arewa Bridge Builders Unity Forum (ABBUF) as President revealed that no fewer than 300, 000 of the forum have already picked tent with the FV4T, and equally registered with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the chartered drive to ensure PBAT re-election bid.
Earlier while bestowing the awards on the awardees, FV4T Director General, Solomon Ballanson Shitnaan said that the occasion was not just to recognize achievements, but to celebrate character, not merely to confer titles - but to affirm a legacy of service, commitment, and shared vision.
The Director General explained that FV4T stands on the pillars of vision, leadership, service, and transformation to the benefit of humanity, particularly the farmer.
"Over the years, we have sought to identify and partner with individuals whose ideals align with our mission to build a generation of citizens, leaders, and changemakers committed to national growth and positive impact".
Dr. Solomon Ballanson Shitnaan told the awardees, "Through your unwavering dedication, exemplary leadership, and consistent support for causes that uplift people and strengthen communities, you have demonstrated the very essence of what FV4T stands for".
Shitnaan noted that the awardees have immensely contributed in public service, community development, Youth empowerment or moral leadership, speaking volumes about their hearts for humanity and the belief in a better Nigeria.
He further recalled that the awardees have not only inspired hope, but also modeled what it means to lead with integrity, humility, and purpose, hence the FV4T management resolved to confer on them the distinguished honour of patrons and ambassadors.
