Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and prudent financial management as essential pillars for building a prosperous and trustworthy government.
The governor stated this when he received the leadership of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Bauchi. He noted that his administration has introduced far-reaching reforms to strengthen public financial systems, ensure due process, and enhance the efficient utilization of public funds.
Governor Mohammed stressed that his government operates on the principles of fiscal discipline and result-oriented budgeting — measures that, according to him, have significantly boosted Bauchi’s financial credibility and improved its budget performance.
While commending ANAN for its continued advocacy for professionalism and ethical conduct within the accounting profession, the governor warned that his administration would not condone any form of financial misconduct or manipulation of public records.
Earlier, the President and Chairman of Council of ANAN, Hajiya Zuwairat Talatu Kishimi, said the visit was part of activities marking the 5th Session of the 2025 Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) Programme hosted by the state.
She lauded the Bauchi State Government for promoting transparency and supporting members of the association serving in the public sector, adding that Governor Bala Mohammed’s prudent leadership and accountability practices have become a model for other states to emulate.
