The Bauchi State Orphans and Vulnerable Children Agency (BASOVCA) has celebrated the graduation of 84 students of Ambassador MC Abubakar OVC Technical College, who successfully completed the 2024/2025 National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) exams with remarkable results.
At a ceremony to present certificates and testimonials to the graduates, BASOVCA Executive Chairperson, Hajiya Yelwa Abubakar Balewa, commended their outstanding performance, noting that 82 of the students scored five credits and above, including Mathematics and English, meeting the minimum university admission requirements.
She attributed the success to the unwavering commitment of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s administration to improving the lives of orphans and vulnerable children, adding that the state government fully covered registration fees, feeding, accommodation, and other essentials for the students.
“Their performance demonstrates our agency’s dedication to quality education,” she said, adding that a NABTEB supervisor was deployed from Minna, Niger State, to ensure strict supervision and credibility of the exams.
Hajiya Yelwa appealed for government scholarships to enable the graduates to further their education. Each student also received a transport allowance as an incentive.
The college’s Head of Education, Mallam Adamu, and Principal, Mr. Umar Zailani, lauded the government’s support, while the students expressed gratitude and pledged to remain committed to their academic goals.
