No fewer than 30 youths have graduated from the Bala Wunti's Technology Fellowship under the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation that are now advancing their skills in the tech industry while many of them have been fixed for employment.
The Director of Programmes of Wunti Al-Khair Foundation, Mustapha Ango while speaking with journalists on Thursday to clarify some misconceptions about the organisation which suggest that its activities are politically driven.
The Foundation, owned by the former NNPC top official, Bala Wunti, has been building stronger communities through interventions in education, agriculture, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and social welfare.
Some fellows of the 2025 cohortAngo said that the Foundation has sponsored 50 youths in 2024 and 2025 cohorts for technology and empowerment under the Bala Wunti's Technology Fellowship in a trip to Industry in Lagos.
“One of the major highlights of our work this year has been the progress of the Bala Wunti Technology Fellowship. This program is designed to prepare young people from Bauchi for the future of work, equipping them with the skills, exposure, and networks they need to thrive in the technology-driven economy.
“Recently, The Bala Wunti Tech Fellowship 2025 cohort embarked on a transformative industrial experience trip to Lagos, coinciding with GITEX Nigeria 2025, as part of the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation’s mission to build a technologically advanced Bauchi by equipping youth with globally relevant skills and exposure.
“At GITEX, fellows engaged with global and local technology leaders, explored emerging digital trends, and built valuable networks. A standout moment came when Muhammad, a 2024 fellow, showcased his startup at the exhibition, a milestone that highlighted how the fellowship is nurturing Bauchi-born innovators for national and international impact,” he said.
According to him, the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation is a non-political, charity organisation with a mandate focusing purely on humanitarian and development.
“We have observed with concern that some individuals attempt to impersonate the Foundation or use our name for political or personal gains. Let me state categorically: we dissociate ourselves completely from such actions.
“We strongly urge the public and our colleagues in the media to always verify any information about the Foundation directly from our office or our official channels before transmission. Together, we must protect the integrity of the work we are doing.”
