A coalition of concerned citizens in Bauchi State has pledged unwavering support for Senator Halliru Dauda Jika's 2027 governorship ambition.
The declaration was made during a one-day sensitisation and awareness meeting in Darazo Town, Bauchi Central Senatorial District yesterday, which brought together politicians, youth, and women leaders to deliberate on the importance of backing Senator Jika's aspiration.
Addressing the gathering, the State Chairman of the coalition, Hon. Ahmad Yero, said the initiative was aimed at educating the people of Bauchi Central Zone on their role in advancing the “Dokaji Movement.”
He described Senator Jika as a leader with a proven track record, citing his service as Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Member representing Gamjuwa/Darazo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and Senator representing Bauchi Central at the National Assembly.
Yero further highlighted Jika’s leadership credentials as former Chairman of the House Committee on Police Affairs, stressing that his experience and capacity positioned him as the right candidate to govern Bauchi State.
He reminded the audience that Senator Jika had recently decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), urging citizens to rally behind him under the new platform.
On behalf of the Bauchi Central Zone coordinators, Muhammad Shatima Abubakar assured total support for the senator’s aspiration, noting that the coalition and Senator Jika were committed to transforming the state, particularly in healthcare, education, agriculture, and job creation.
Abubakar added that Senator Jika’s vision aligns with the coalition’s mission, expressing confidence that his leadership would bring meaningful development to Bauchi State.
The coalition emphasized that its mobilization efforts would play a vital role in galvanizing grassroots support, while its endorsement of Senator Jika sends a strong signal about his capacity to lead the state in 2027.
