The Federal Polytechnic Bauchi in affiliation with the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) have matriculated 110 new intakes into Degree programmes in the institution.
Speaking during the 2024/2025 matriculation ceremony for the students on Wednesday, Prof. Ibrahim Garba, the Vice Chancellor of ATBU, said students' matriculation is a cardinal requirement for qualifying any admitted student as a bonafide member of a university, or any tertiary institution.
He reminded the students that ATBU, as a matter of policy, has zero tolerance to all kinds of vices, anti-social behaviors such as cultism, examination mal-practice, sexual harassment, drug abuse, indecent dressing, vandalism and truancy.
“Our duty here is not only to give you access to knowledge, but also to help in molding your character so that you become responsible citizens of our nation.
“Those who are too arrogant to conform will be shown the way out because ATBU and Federal Polytechnic share things in common and that is quality
assurance.
"The oath you have taken today is an indication of your readiness to abide
by ATBU laws as well as a promise that you will conduct yourself with decorum during your stay in this institution.
"Let me inform you here that everything has been done possible to ensure
the provision of acceptable standards of educational facilities and welfare.
“You should therefore, give the Polytechnic all the needed support to realise the vision and mission of both the Polytechnic and our University,” he said.
