A prominent supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Kebbi State, Adamu Yahaya, popularly known as Adam Fakai, has announced his decision to stop promoting the programmes and policies of the federal government, citing what he described as a lack of recognition and support from leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement posted on his social media platforms, Fakai said he had devoted more than two years of his personal resources, time and energy to publicising the achievements of the Tinubu administration across the country because he believed in the President's vision for national development.
"I have spent more than two years using my money, time and energy to promote the programmes and achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration to Nigerians in both the North and South. I did so because I believed in his efforts to build a better Nigeria," he stated.
He, however, alleged that despite his commitment, he received no encouragement, appreciation or support from APC leaders in Kebbi State or at the national level.
According to him, several prominent political figures had used photographs and videos of Federal Government projects that he personally visited, documented and shared, yet none acknowledged or supported his efforts.
"I am from Kebbi State, and throughout this period, I never received any form of encouragement or support from politicians in my party, either at the state or federal level.
"It is unfortunate that some prominent figures at the federal level use the pictures and videos of government projects that I captured and shared, yet none has ever contacted me directly," he said.
Fakai further suggested that he might have received greater recognition if he had been from another state, adding that the perceived neglect informed his decision to discontinue promoting the Tinubu administration.
Despite withdrawing from the advocacy, he expressed appreciation to individuals who supported him through prayers and words of encouragement during the period.
Fakai gained prominence on social media for visiting major Federal Government projects and publishing photographs, videos and reports highlighting infrastructure and other development initiatives of the Tinubu administration.
Efforts to obtain reactions from the APC leadership in Kebbi State and officials of the federal government on Fakai's claims were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
