Governorship aspirant under the platform of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Barrister Ibrahim Kashim has on Friday purchased nomination and expression of interest forms to contest the poll.
Kashim, immediate past Secretary to the State Government, served in Bala Mohammed government until his resignation in December 2024. He had declared his intention to run for Governor in the Social Democratic Party (SDP). He left the party due to fragmentation in the party at the national level.
He purchased the NDC form on 15th May, 2026, seeking the mandate of the people of the State to contest for the office of Governor in the 2027 General Elections.
Speaking after obtaining the form, he noted that the exercise marked another important step “in our collective journey towards building a more prosperous, secure and united Bauchi State. I remain deeply humbled by the encouragement, prayers and support received from citizens across all communities, especially our youths, women, workers, farmers, traders and elders who continue to believe in the possibility of a better future for our dear state.”
He added that his aspiration is driven purely by sincere commitment to the upliftment of the people and the development of the state. He said that his mission is centered on restoring hope, improving governance, creating opportunities for the youths, strengthening education and healthcare, supporting workers and pensioners, promoting agriculture and economic growth, and ensuring that every citizen feels the impact of responsible and compassionate leadership.
‘Together, with unity, faith and determination, we shall work tirelessly to move Bauchi State forward and secure a brighter future for generations to come,” he said.
