Armed bandits kill six persons in Bauchi community

No fewer than six people have been killed and several others injured following a late-night attack by armed bandits on Sabon Garin Pali in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

Reports indicated that the attackers struck on Sunday night, firing sporadically to instill fear before moving from house to house, attacking residents.

A local resident recounted that villagers were fast asleep when the bandits invaded around midnight, catching them completely off guard.


According to eyewitnesses, the assailants searched homes for money and valuables, killing residents indiscriminately without provocation.

The attack, which lasted for over two hours, left six people dead, many others injured, and several residents abducted.

Residents lamented the absence of security operatives during the incident, stating that the bandits operated freely without any resistance.

Meanwhile, funeral prayers for the victims were conducted in the village, led by the Chief Imam, with a large turnout of mourners from the community and neighboring villages.

Following the prayers held at the Village Head’s palace, the bodies were laid to rest at the community burial ground.

Recall that on February 22, 2026 armed badits attacked a Joint Task Force (JTF) base in

Gwana District of the community, two soldiers and one vigilante were killed, while several residents abducted 

There have been multiple communities been attacked in the area, villages like Mansur, Yalau, Futuk, Duguri, and Gwana and led to mass displacement of residents to Gombe and other states.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib promised to get necessary details of the incident and get back to our Correspondent.
