The Minister of State for Regional Development, Alhaji Uba Maigari Ahmadu, on Wednesday inspected the rehabilitated late Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Tomb and Museum in Bauchi State, a project executed by the North East Development Commission (NEDC).
The inspection was part of the Minister's ongoing tour to assess and commission completed NEDC-funded projects across the state.
Rehabilitation works at the historic site covered major facilities, including the Museum and Library, the Tomb, the Reception Block, and public conveniences for both male and female visitors.
The intervention is aimed at preserving the legacy of Nigeria’s first Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, while enhancing the site’s standard for public access, tourism development, and educational engagement.
The project underscores NEDC’s commitment to safeguarding national heritage and promoting socio-economic development through cultural and historical preservation in the North East region.
