The Bauchi State chapter of the Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) has congratulated the government and people of Bauchi State on the Golden Jubilee celebration marking 50 years of the state’s creation.
In a congratulatory message signed by its Chairman, Rev. Prof. Collins David Agbon, and made available to journalists in Bauchi on Tuesday, the Council described the journey of the state since 1976 as remarkable.
“It has been a wonderful journey of development and growth from a mere local government area under the administration of the defunct North-Eastern State,” the statement read.
The CCN noted that it was particularly delighted that the Golden Jubilee was being celebrated under the administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, describing the period as one marked by “unprecedented infrastructural transformation across all facets of development.”
According to the Council, Bauchi State has become “an envy of its contemporaries and even older states,” adding that religious freedom and tolerance have been significantly strengthened under the present administration.
“The Christian community appreciates and supports the administration in all ramifications and continues to pray for greater success and progress for the state,” the CCN stated.
It reassured the governor of its continued support and loyalty, while praying for sustained peace and divine intervention across the state.
“Happy Golden Jubilee to Bauchi State. May God bless the people and increase the peace we are enjoying,” the statement added.
Similarly, the Bauchi State chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has commended the state for 50 years of progress, unity, and peaceful coexistence.
In a statement signed by the State Chairman, Pastor Promise Nuhu Yohanna, the PFN said the Golden Jubilee provided an opportunity to reflect on five decades of growth and development driven by purposeful leadership and the resilience of the people.
“This milestone is a testament to the vision of our founders and the collective efforts of citizens, as evidenced by the unprecedented infrastructural development across the state,” the PFN stated.
The Fellowship particularly praised the peaceful coexistence among adherents of different faiths, describing inclusive governance under Governor Bala Mohammed as commendable.
The PFN called on residents to strengthen bonds of unity and continue working together for the overall development of the state.
“May this milestone inspire us to build an even brighter future marked by continued progress and prosperity. Congratulations to Bauchi State at 50. God bless Bauchi State and its residents,” the statement concluded.
