The Bauchi state police command has announced the arrest of 20 year old Bilal Ya'u over alleged rape of 6 year old daughter of a neighbor in Alkaleri local government area of the state.
The arrest of Ya'u is coming barely three days after the police announced the arrest of 28 years old Baffa'ji Abba who also allegedly defiled an 8 year old teen, also in same Alkaleri LGA.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bauchi state Command, SP Nafiu Habib who stated this in a press release weekend, said the incident was reported at the Alkaleri Divisional police headquarters on 6th January, 2026.
"On the 06/01/2026 at about 1300hrs, a 45yrs-old father reported at the Divisional Police headquarters Alkaleri that on the 05/01/2026 his daughter (name withheld) aged 6yrs was lured by one Bilal Ya'u 'm' aged 20yrs who was a neighbour into an uncompleted building and forcefully had carnal knowledge of the minor", the PPRO said.
SP Habib said, "on receipt of the report, a team of detectives led by CSP Kadiri Danjuma, DPO Alkaleri, rushed to the scene and evacuated the victim to General Hospital Alkaleri for medical examination and treatment".
The PPRO who disclosed that the suspect was successfully arrested said, during interrogation, he confessed to the allegation against him, and further revealed that he sexually harassed the victim through both the vagina and anus.
The PPRO said, it was discovered that the suspect had sometimes in 2024 during the rainy season rape the same minor and was warned by the mother to stay away from her daughter.
According to SP Habib, investigation is still on and the suspect will be charged to court upon completion.
