The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed and the Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum has said the party remained the darling party for Nigerians in the modern democracy.
Mohammed made the statement when he received some stakeholders of the party from Delta state and assured them of his support to keep the flag of PDP flying higher in the state and the country as a whole as a committed party man and leader.
A statement signed by Usman Usman Shehu, the State Commissioner of Information and Communication which was distributed to reporters in Bauchi, said the Governor gave the assurance during an interaction with a delegation of Deltans who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Bauchi.
According to him, the delegation was led by two elder statesmen, Chief Edwin Olley and Hon. Dr Micheal Tidi Esq, the immediate Chairman of Warri South Local Government of Delta State.
Governor Bala described the two Party Leaders as real Party men who were among the original founding members of PDP in the state that have contributed immensely to the development and victory of the Party in Delta and Nigeria as a whole at various elections.
He paid tribute to their courage of doggedness on ideology by not shifting their loyalty away from the house they built in a wave of political cross-carpeting.
He assured them that PDP is the Party of time, that will forever remain darling to Nigerians in the modern democracy, looking at the fact that it is the most formidable and focused in terms of meeting national ideals across all regions.
Governor Bala who is the Chairman PDP Governors Forum, assured them that he will continue to identify with them and all other committed PDP faithful across the country.
He said PDP is united and derives its strength from the support of the people.
“PDP is strong. We have started the process of recalibration, coming together in unity because the strength of this party is in the people across the country,
The governor said “Our party is organic and formidable, and it is essential to emphasise that the people who truly make a party are the people themselves.
“We have the support and base. We are organic. We have the national spread. There is no community in Nigeria where you won’t find the PDP presence. Due to our membership and years of experience in government, we have positively impacted the lives of Nigerians,and Nigerians are “eager” to see the party regain power in 2027.
In their remarks, Chief Edwin Olley and Hon. Dr Micheal Tidi esq, commended the Governor for his leadership role as Chairman of the PDP Forum describing him as a rallying pillar for the continued survival and sense of direction to the party.
They requested for his support and co-operation to put the Delta State PDP in a new direction after the exit of their state Governor from the Party, attesting that Delta State is overwhelmingly PDP state throughout the history of present democracy.
