The Bauchi State Tourism Development Corporation Board has expressed readiness to partner with a group of Journalists for Tourism Development to promote, market the cultural heritage in the state.
This development was announced during a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of the Tourism Development Corporation Board by the leaders of the group in his office on Tuesday in Bauchi.
The MD, Nasiru Shehu, said the Board has concluded all arrangements to work with the chapter of Journalists for Tourism Development to promote the state's cultural heritage to the global world by showcasing the state's heritage potentials. Besides that, the Board will engage journalists in all its activities within and outside the state to give more publicity to the general activities of the office.
He acknowledged the power of the media as a very important mechanism in promoting tourism activities to the entire world. He disclosed that the board will enter into a partnership and sign a memorandum of understanding with journalists for tourism development, because the present administration has opened the door to engage anyone who has an interest in promoting the state's tourism activities.
While appreciating the journalists for the visit and their interest in covering and promoting tourism activities, he allocated office accommodation to the chapter as part of his support.
Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of Tourism for Development, Mr. Austine Tsenzughul, said the aim of the visit was to introduce the new executive members of Journalists for Tourism and seek collaboration in promoting the agency's activities.
He informed the MD that the chapter has professional journalists comprising print, radio, and television from reputable media outlets that would give wider coverage of tourism activities to every nook and cranny within and outside the state and nation at large.
"We're willing and ever ready to work closely with your organization towards promoting your activities with a view to attracting more investors to the state."
The chairman, on behalf of the Journalists for Tourism, expressed gratitude for the office accommodation and promised to effectively utilize it for the promotion and dissemination of tourism activities.
